DealerPointPro requires access to Lightspeed’s APIs (Application Programming Interfaces). Unlike most other DMS providers, Lightspeed charges the dealer to access their data via API. Charges vary depending on the type of data requested. DealerPoint Pro requires access to three data tables (listed below).
Instructions:
*To complete these instructions the Lightspeed user must have permissions/security access to edit System – Lists – Stores – Third Party Access settings.*
- Select System → Lists → Stores menu in Lightspeed. Open the detail record of the store to which you want to grant data access.
- In the store detail view click on the Third Party Access (3PA) tab. (Only visible if the user has security access for System → Lists → Stores → Third party Access)
- In the Available 3PA Data Sets list, check the following data sets: Service Detail, Deal Detail, Invoice Detail.
- After making your selections click the Subscribe to Selected Data Sets button bar below the list.
- This adds the subscribed data sets to your Lightspeed contract. Each data set that you subscribe to has a monthly fee as shown in the list.
- Your contracted data sets are displayed in the Subscribed 3PA Data Sets list at the bottom of the screen. Confirm the following data sets are selected:
- Service Detail
- Deal Detail
- Invoice Detail
- Click the Show Password button and then copy the password shown.
- Return to the DealerPoint Pro signup page and paste the Lightspeed provided password as well as your Lightspeed Dealership ID (CMF) number.
